Cody Harris to make World Championship debut after winning DartsPlayers New Zealand qualifier

New Zealand’s Cody Harris will make his William Hill World Darts Championship debut later this year.

The New Zealand World Cup representative has secured his spot at the Alexandra Palace in December after winning the DartsPlayers New Zealand qualifying event.

After coming through the group stages of the annual qualifying event, which was held at the Upper Hutt Cosmopolitan Club, Harris defeated Rob Szabo 6-2 in the semi-finals before seeing off Warren Parry 7-2 in the final.

Harris, who was invited to compete in the Auckland Darts Masters next month, also won the DPNZ Qualifier for the Melbourne Darts Masters.

Szabo, Harris’ partner in the World Cup last month, won the Perth Darts Masters qualifier to secure his spot in the World Series event for a second consecutive year.

The DPNZ Qualifiers for the Auckland Darts Masters will be held from August 3-5 at Swanson Memorial RSA, with three places in the World Series event up for grabs.
