Adrian Lewis says he is looking forward to making his return to the PDC circuit after undergoing surgery this week.
The 2011 and 2012 world champion recently had to withdraw from the World Series of Darts events in Shanghai and Las Vegas, as well as several events on the Pro Tour circuit, for health reasons.
The 32-year-old underwent surgery on Friday and is now setting his sights on being back to full health ahead of the BetVictor World Matchplay in two weeks.
“I would just like to let everyone know the reason why I have been missing tournaments over the last few months is due to a painful health issue,” the world number four revealed.
“I’ve had surgery today (Friday) which has gone well. It’s been a frustrating time for me and I’m relieved it is all over.
“I can now look forward to playing tournaments for the rest of the year now I’m pain free.”
