Raymond van Barneveld believes signing with Target Darts is the ‘perfect next step” for his career as he bids to win a sixth world title.
The five-time world champion was unveiled as the new signing at Target Darts today, and the Dutchman will use and promote all of their products bearing his name and image until 2022.
The 50-year-old will use the exclusive new Target RVB equipment for the first time in the Shanghai Darts Masters later this week, with the announcement made this morning at a press launch in the Hotel Den Haag – Noortdorp, in his home town.
Van Barneveld is the fifth world champion to join Target, with Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis, Stephen Bunting and Keith Deller also on their books.
“The reason I signed with Target is an inner feeling I have to take this step,” van Barneveld explained.
“The material feels spectacular, looks fantastic and so does the packaging so I cannot wait to start using their products.
“Target is the perfect next step for me to take in my career and I plan to continuously succeed whilst working with them.”
He added: “You have to dream where you want to go in life and what your next step should be from here.
“I had many dreams seeing myself lifting trophies and with Target I am going to do all I can do to achieve that. My goal is to win a sixth world title.
“I have been watching the types of unique darts Target have been releasing in recent years and I need that level of introduction in my game.”
