Dyson Parody was one of five players to qualify for this weekend’s Gibraltar Darts Trophy through the Host Nation Qualifiers last night.
The charismatic Gibraltarian enjoyed a stunning run to the quarter-finals of the tournament last year, before losing out to eventual winner Michael van Gerwen 6-5 in the last eight.
Parody won through yesterday’s qualifier to secure his spot in the £135,000 tournament, which starts today, and will face Sweden’s Magnus Caris in the first round.
Parody’s partner in next month’s Betway World Cup of Darts, Dylan Duo, also qualified and will now take on James Wilson in his third appearance in a European Tour event.
Elsewhere, Anthony Lopez qualified for a fourth consecutive year and will go up against Belgium’s Dimitri van den Bergh, while Manuel Vilerio competes in the tournament for the fourth time as he faces Darren Johnson.
Justin Broton was the night’s other qualifier and he will make his debut on the European Tour when he takes on Matt Clark today.
