Dave Chisnall believes he would be challenging at the top of the Betway Premier League if he had not had such a slow start to the season.
Chizzy has been unbeaten since the start of the second phase of the tournament, winning two and drawing three of his five games since Judgement Night.
Despite squandering match darts to beat league leader Michael van Gerwen in Birmingham last week, Chisnall heads into tonight’s clash with Raymond van Barneveld in Sheffield still with an outside chance of making the play-offs.
Currently in seventh place, the St Helens thrower is two points adrift of the top four, but he is relying on other results to help bridge the gap on the players above him.
“I’m still in with a shout and I’ll prepare myself like I have for the last few weeks,” he said.
“If I could have started the league like I’m ending it I’d probably be top, but I still think I can get through.
“Raymond’s a great player so I’ll just keep playing my own game and hopefully I can keep getting the results.”
