Peter Wright landed his first nine darter in front of the cameras while playing on the PDC tour earlier today.
The 47-year-old hit a perfect nine-dart leg during his 6-3 victory against Michael Smith in the semi-finals of Players Championship 10 in Barnsley.
Wright’s only other nine-dart finish in competitive play came back in 2015, when he threw a nine darter in a Players Championship event, away from the cameras.
The Scot has come close on several occasions to hitting the perfect leg in front of the cameras, most notably missing double 12 for perfection in the UK Open final last year against Michael van Gerwen, and more recently in the Grand Slam of Darts quarter-finals against Phil Taylor in November.
After his memorable win over Smith, Wright was beaten 6-3 by his fellow Scot, Gary Anderson, in the final of Players Championship 10.
