Michael van Gerwen and Adrian Lewis played out a thrilling 6-6 draw in the Betway Premier League at the Brighton Centre tonight.
World number one van Gerwen, who had won 10 of his 12 previous meetings with Lewis, looked in danger of losing his unbeaten start to the Premier League season as Lewis took a 4-2 lead midway through the contest.
But van Gerwen responded by winning four of the next five legs to go 6-5 up, before Jackpot hit double 12 in the final leg to earn a share of the points.
The Dutchman, who has not lost in front of the television cameras since September 25 last year, made a fine start with an 11-darter to hold throw in the first leg.
However, missed doubles in two of the next three legs were capitalised on by Lewis to go 3-1 up, before a stunning 170 finish saw the 2011 and 2012 PDC world champion establish a 4-2 lead.
Another 11-darter in the next leg saw van Gerwen cut the deficit to 4-3, and in the next leg MVG hit double 18 to level up the match at 4-4.
Lewis fired in consecutive scores of 180 and 174 in the ninth leg to help him break the van Gerwen throw again for 5-4, but the match swung once again as the reigning Premier League champion clinched back-to-back legs to go 6-5 up.
And van Gerwen could have snatched both the points as he wired the bullseye for a 170 finish in the deciding leg, with Lewis returning to the oche and hitting double 12 to secure a point.
