Phil Taylor came from behind to draw 6-6 with Kim Huybrechts tonight and maintain his unbeaten record in the Betway Premier League this season.
Huybrechts fired in checkouts of 110 and 140 to help him go 6-4 up, before the Belgian missed three match darts over the next two legs and Taylor won them both to snatch a point.
Huybrechts kicked off the match in style with a 110 checkout on double 16 to break the Taylor throw in the first leg, before holding throw on double nine to go 2-0 in front.
The next five legs all went with throw as Huybrechts started the eighth leg leading 4-3, and he doubled his advantage once again with an excellent 140 checkout on double 16.
After Taylor reduced the deficit again in the next leg, Huybrechts fired in a second 87 checkout of the match to secure a point and a 6-4 lead.
The Belgian then had a chance to clinch both points in the 11th leg, as Taylor elected to set up double 16 rather than go for the bullseye, and Huybrechts missed double eight for a 136 finish.
Taylor hit double 16 to force a deciding leg, which looked to be in Huybrechts’ grasp when the 16-time world champion missed the bullseye for an 86 checkout.
But Huybrechts spurned his attempt at a 56 match-winning finish, and Taylor returned to hit double eight for a share of the points.
