Jelle Klaasen climbed off the bottom of the Betway Premier League table after beating Dave Chisnall 7-3 in Brighton this evening.

The Dutchman, who started the night bottom of the table after losing all of his opening three games of the season, averaged 98.90 and hit four 180s to see off Chisnall and earn his first win of the season.

After Chisnall held throw on double 19 in the opening leg, Klaasen responded with back-to-back legs to go 2-1 in front.

Chisnall, who picked up his first victory of the Premier League season after beating Kim Huybrechts in Leeds last week, broke back immediately with an 86 finish to level up at 2-2.

Missed doubles from Chisnall were then punished by Klaasen, who rattled off four consecutive legs to guarantee himself a point, the highlight of that run a 152 checkout in the seventh leg.

Chizzy kept his hopes of a draw alive by hitting tops to close the gap to 6-3, before Klaasen got over the line with a 72 checkout in the next leg to complete a 7-3 victory.

Klaasen’s maiden win of the Premier League season moves him out of the bottom two of the Premier League table on leg difference, but Kim Huybrechts can climb above him if he avoids defeat against Phil Taylor in his match later on this evening.
