Luke Humphries completed a weekend double by winning PDC Unicorn Development Tour Event Four on Sunday, after Ryan Meikle had claimed his first title with victory in Event Three.

Humphries, who won the first Development Tour of the season yesterday, triumphed again by defeating Kenny Neyens 5-2 in the final in the second of two £10,000 tournaments on Sunday.

Meikle had earlier beaten Harry Ward 5-1 to clinch his maiden title and continue his good start to the year, having qualified for the Coral UK Open last weekend.

The 20-year-old began Sunday’s action with successive 4-0 wins against Joshua Burksfield and Guido Den Hartog, before seeing off Neyens and Mike De Decker to reach the last 16.

The PDC tour card holder then beat Rhys Hayden 4-1 and Nico Blum 5-1 to progress to the semi-finals.

A 5-4 victory against former PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship finalist Rowby-John Rodriguez saw Meikle reach his first final, which he won convincingly, triumphing 5-1 against 19-year-old Ward.

Humphries then embarked on a second tournament win from the four events played over the weekend to place himself top of the early Development Tour Order of Merit.

The Newbury-based ace, who had suffered a second round exit in Event Three, bounced back with wins over Rusty-Jake Rodriguez, Casper Rasmussen and Jake Jones to reach the last 16 of Event Four.

A 4-2 victory against Liam Freeman and a 5-2 win over Stephen Rosney saw him reach the semi-finals, where he defeated Ronnie Roberts 5-3.

Humphries then completed a brace of tournament triumphs with a 5-2 win against Belgium’s Neyens, who sits in second place on the Order of Merit after reaching two finals in as many days.
