Kevin Painter has qualified for the William Hill World Darts Championship following Kyle Anderson’s withdrawal from the tournament last night.
The 2004 World Championship runner-up was due to be playing in the PDPA Qualifier today, in a late bid to qualify for the lucrative event at the Alexandra Palace.
But last night the PDC confirmed world number 28 Anderson has had to withdraw after being unable to secure a UK Visa.
It means players ranked from 29-33 on the PDC Order of Merit have all moved up one place in the seedings for the tournament.
Spain’s Cristo Reyes has become the 32nd seed, with Painter taking the final qualifying place from the Pro Tour Order of Merit.
The draw for the World Championship first round will be made at 3.30pm. Check back on this website later today to see the draw in full.
