Darts Firsts with… Vincent Kamphuis

Vincent-KAMPHUIS-01

PDC tour card holder, Vincent Kamphuis, talks us through his darts memories

First darts memory?

It was the World Championship final in 1994 between Bobby George and John Part. That was the first game I watched on the TV and it introduced me to darts for the first time.

First darts hero?

From watching that Embassy final my first darts hero was Bobby George.

First set of darts?

The first set of darts I ever played with were a set of Eric Bristow 24g darts.

First darts team?

It was the Youth Laco team in the Netherlands.

First game on TV?

I haven’t played on the TV yet but I’m hoping that with my two year tour card on the PDC tour I won at Q-School earlier this year I can do so in the near future.

First nine darter?

I haven’t thrown a nine darter, I’ve missed the double about 12 times now I think. Hopefully it will come soon!

First professional tournament win?

I’ve not won on the PDC Pro Tour yet. The best I’ve done since I came through Q-School in January is getting to the last 32 of two Players Championship events. I beat Jelle Klaasen and Stephen Bunting during those runs.
